We meander through the breath-taking landscapes of the South Downs, showcasing rolling hills and vibrant greenery that characterize this esteemed area of natural beauty. This serene passage sets the tone for the arrival at the Avisford Park Hotel.

We stop off for a captivating morning excursion at the Weald & Downland Living Museum offering an interactive journey through time. Celebrated as the filming location for the BBC TV series ‘The Repair Shop,’ this museum brings to life the architectural and cultural heritage of rural England, promising an unforgettable end to an enriching journey.(Please note there is a closed film set and is not accessible to the public. The set including the outside of the barn is visible from a short distance but there is no public access beyond that point.)
Later we visit the historic city of Chichester, with its pretty harbour and cathedral. Why not visit The Novium Museum with its free entry and unique and engaging exhibitions on display.
We transfer to Portsmouth with an initial visit of Cumberland House Natural History Museum (free entry), known for its unique focus on the local wildlife, providing an interactive and engaging experience. Then you are free to Explore Portsmouth at leisure.
Then our drop off point will be the Historic Dockyard, some parts of the Dockyard require admission, walk around certain areas and admire the historic ships from the outside, including the famous HMS Victory, which is free.
You could explore the cobbled streets of Old Portsmouth, full of historic buildings, the Square Tower, and the Round Tower. The area offers picturesque views of the harbour and is rich in naval history.
Heading towards the coast, we’re greeted by the delightful vistas of Worthing and Brighton. En route, a stop in Goring-by-Sea unveils the stunning ceiling paintings at English Martyrs Catholic Church, a sight of unparalleled artistic grandeur.
As we make our way back, the quaint town of Arundel beckons for a leisurely exploration. With options aplenty, visitors can dive into the town’s rich past at the Arundel Museum or venture into the grandeur of Arundel Castle (entry required), each offering a unique peek into history’s depths.
Departing from the serene grounds of Avisford Park Hotel, a journey home begins, tracing the scenic paths that lead to the vibrant seaside resort of Bognor Regis. This short detour offers a refreshing contrast to the tranquil setting of the hotel, inviting travellers to savour the quintessential British seaside atmosphere for a fleeting moment. Bognor Regis, known for its sunny disposition, welcomes visitors with its picturesque promenade, lively pier, and inviting beaches, providing a perfect backdrop for a leisurely stroll or a moment of relaxation by the sea.
We journey home arriving into our local area early evening.
