Explore Devon | Coasts & Gardens
Our journey begins as we set off towards Mid-Devon, planning to reach Tiverton by mid to late afternoon.
A full day awaits to savour Tiverton’s attractions. Embark on an exploration of Tiverton Castle and its enchanting gardens, followed by a stroll through the renowned Tiverton Pannier Market.
No visit to Devon is complete without experiencing Fursdon House, the epitome of Devon’s heritage, where you can indulge in an authentic Devon Cream Tea. Immerse yourself in the serene Devon countryside and savour the legendary Devon clotted cream in its true glory.
We embark on a nostalgic journey aboard a steam train from Bishop’s Lydeard, winding through 22 miles of Somerset’s picturesque landscapes, en route to the seaside haven of Minehead.
The afternoon is yours to enjoy in this coastal retreat before we return to our hotel by coach.
Venturing southward, we explore the lush Bicton Park Botanical Gardens with over 300 years of horticultural history. Set in the picturesque Devon countryside, these gardens are home to an extensive variety of plants, trees, and several historic and architectural features. The garden’s design reflects the Italian and French influences of the 18th century, creating a tranquil and picturesque setting for visitors.
Our journey continues with a brief visit to Sidmouth, where the seafront and a myriad of quaint shops await to enchant you.
With heavy hearts, it’s time to commence our journey back home, but not before a quick visit to Tiverton Museum before wayward bound.
