Glen Smith

Glen is the Group Financial Director of Crest Hotels Group, overseeing the finance department and spearheading financial matters across the group. Glen is responsible for ensuring robust financial controls, process improvement and plays a pivotal role in driving financial strategy to ensure sustained growth of the group.

Glen started his career in finance over 10 years ago with most of this time within accountancy firms. Glen worked with a diverse portfolio of clients including several hospitality companies which sparked his passion for the industry. After becoming a certified Chartered Accountant, Glen quickly climbed through the ranks to manage the outsourced financial team gaining greater insight into the commercial world of accounting. During this time Glen specialised his portfolio to be primarily hospitality clientele building expertise in both the hospitality and financial sectors. Glen took pride in ensuring that his interactions with clients were not purely compliance focused, but added tangible value and helped his clientele understand what the financials of their businesses meant. It is this passion and expertise that caught the attention of Crest Hotels Group who brought Glen on board as their Group Financial Director.

Glen’s leadership extends beyond financial stewardship; he is deeply committed to fostering a culture of transparency and collaboration within the team, ensuring that financial practices align with the group’s overarching goals of excellence and customer satisfaction. Outside of work, Glen is an avid gamer, enjoying the strategic thinking and problem-solving that this brings and keeps Glen connected with emerging technology trends that he believe can inspire innovative approaches to the finance world. Glen also enjoys travelling and can often be found be found attending music concerts across the country.
